Once the season changes from Winter to Spring (ignoring the current chilly winds and SNOW..yep WTF is with the snow?!) my accessories are completely inappropriate for the sunshine. I recently packed away my woollen scarves and sea of black bags and the brightest colours I was left with for Spring were…brown?! I never realised how dull my bag collection was and the urgent need for some Spring/Summer inspiration. Don’t get me wrong I love black apparel but once in a while I need cheering up, and colour is the best way to boost your mood in the mornings- plus it lasts longer than the coffee caffeine fix! I was hoping that the increase in sunshine would get rid of my blues, but as I look down at my outfit today I am clad in greys and blacks and don’t feel like we are creeping into May at all!
Instead of crawling through a tonne of sites I always opt for House of Fraser, Debenhams or ASOS these days as I don’t have the time to trawl the web like I used to . House of Fraser always have incredible sales on which reel me in, and when I was hunting for handbags I saw that they have a 30 percent brand sale on, which is plenty of justification for a new handbag!
I couldn’t help but let black and white creep into my selection, but the Nine West bag has such a unique, patchwork design it really caught my eye. As for Fiorelli I lust after their new season pieces and could quite happily refresh my collection on a monthly basis, the floral design is completely beautiful and will pair really well with whites, and contrasting prints for a bolder outfit. Ted Baker can do no wrong in my eyes and their Sevina bag is right on the money, the green colour is so striking and definitely my favourite tote. As for a smaller bag the bright red Whistles camera bag is just divine, it brings a key pop of colour, ideal for a mood boost and will work day and night.
It’s not just Tote Bags that are high on my Spring must-haves, I am desperate for some practical but cute backpacks, and I NEED all three! They are suited for different occasions and sometimes a hand-held tote bag just won’t do when I am carrying heavy items, particularly books, and being able to travel in style is even better! Fiorelli and Ted Baker feature once again as they are my go to brands for bags in general and they never let me down. As for Radley I am used to sophisticated, rigid handbags that have always been too ‘proper’ for me, however I adore their apples and pears design. I have seen it on a multitude of products but this backpack is just so quirky and ideal for Summer!
What’s your go to Spring/Summer bag?
