“Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple.”
― J.K. Rowling,
Ignoring the risk of sounding overwhelmingly ungrateful for Summer (which really is a rarity in the UK) I have to admit I have been waiting for Autumn pretty much since Spring left us. Cool, clear early morning walks down the seafront are perfect in Autumn, and wrapping up all cosy and warm gets me excited for a wardrobe overhaul. Trousers become a must have unless I start investing in thick wooly tights which is why I like them to be skinny! Faux leather leggings and trousers give an edge to cold weather outfits, these beauties are from Topshop here for £18. Every year after Winter I donate them to charity and by time the cold weather comes back I end up buying another pair, they are my wardrobe staple.
Zara is the first place I look to complete my basics wardrobe including shoes and coats, these pointed black boots are last season but are definitely coming back into this season with me. They look perfect with skirts and trousers and are surprisingly comfortable as well as looking smart. I love wearing blouses and shirts in Winter, I adore a cute knit but sometimes the constant flow of jumpers grind on me and I feel like I am losing my identity. I picked this up early this year from New Look, I layer a long sleeved top underneath and accessorise with a necklace under the collar to spruce it up.
Have you bought any new Autumn pieces?
