Styling challenges are really exciting opportunities for me, predominantly because it allows me to think of outfits utilising items that I would usually feel uninspired with and create something that overthrows my lazy looks. Take the jumper. A grey cashmere jumper in Winter for me would be inappropriately thrown over a pair of leggings, or paired with some jeans without a thought or care…Winter does make me particularly lazy you see, but when it comes to temperamental Spring weather sometimes we need to come armed with knitwear but think of different ways of styling it so we don’t look like we are planning to hibernate ALL YEAR.(I know it’s kinda tempting in exam season…)
This luxurious, long V Neck Sweater* is from Woolovers and is comprised of a gorgeous pairing of cashmere and Merino. It’s something you instantly want to pop on when you are snuggled up on a rainy day matched with some knee high socks and a tub of ice-cream at the ready. I however was planning a day at the beach and was longing to pull out my ASOS Denim Skirt (£22 btw, such a barg!). It was actually a pretty chilly day so paired it with my Zara camel coat, and my much loved chequered brogues. It was an accidental 90s salute with student accents- ie the leather rucksack, brogues and my school girl esque tucked in jumper, but for me it just worked. I went with a simple top knot and tightly clasped hoops and boy did it feel nicer than slobbing it in leggings and a jumper.
Seen in the city have set me the task of pairing this beauty not once but twice, so I will keep you posted for the second look as you will be surprised how versatile this bad boy is.
Is it just me or do you get a bad case of lazy dressing when the weather gets cold?
