Pastels never really went out of style for me, that being said I am not one to sit with a magnifying glass over analysing what we should and shouldn’t be wearing. I naturally shop for a petite frame and like to snap up bargains that won’t swamp my short self but I would never not wear something because someone told me to. The development of early ‘Summer’ brought great excitement to me knowing that I might actually be able to peel myself away from oversized knitwear and leggings that masked my Winter food indulgences. ‘Florals for Spring..Groundbreaking’, yeah we all know, we all watched it, we all heard it but if you’re going to stop wearing florals in Spring because of a film then man sort out your priorities! I saw some cute floral joggers in Dorothy Perkins sale after my Fiorelli mini tote bag had arrived and just knew that they would be the perfect accompaniment.
Mini totes wouldn’t usually be my first choice, but that being said I have been stuck in the era of thinking that an oversized bag is the only acceptable form of accessory to own. Sometimes we don’t need to fill our bags with unnecessary junk (sometimes we really do, first aid kit, snacks..make-up anyone?!). The Fiorelli mini-tote bag is surprisingly similar to Hermione’s bag after an undetectable extension charm- it has so much deceiving room despite being such a bite sized pick!
P.s The Hut have 25 percent of Fashion tonight midnight (7th May) with code MATCH!
Early ‘Summer’ arrives calling for late March and April premature seaside trips and bare stomachs, and as soon as rainy days in May hit we are adamant that we aren’t going to have a Summer. Oh what are we like? British problems are my absolute favourite. Alas the sun is still here and we ARE going to have Summer still (I hope), amidst the fierce winds, which might I mention create great resistance for walking….I thought that today, the 7th May was a day to pull out a crop top. Crop top opinions vary, but I think with a high waisted accompaniment they can be perfectly appropriate for any event- even the church where my polling station was- I didn’t even get any rolled eyes, can you believe it?!
Dorothy Perkins currently have a 25 percent promotion running (I’m just telling ya cos I am nice) which is from the 7th until 11th online and in store, however when I ordered I was still lucky enough to get 20 percent off. I immediately snapped up these ‘Peony Tie Waist Joggers‘ as soon as I saw them at just £12. I always find that Dorothy Perkins trousers particularly Jogger style trousers are perfect high waisted for Petites and can easily fit just as nicely on your hips if you’re taller.
These Primark sandals are my absolute staple. I find it so difficult to get a comfortable pair of shoes that I actually love, and as much as I loved the gladiator/lace up sandals the backs were a recipe for cut up ankles and disaster. These have an elasticated back and a mock suede feel to the fabric, HEAVEN!
The beautiful team at Touchstone Accessories were generous enough to send me out some jewellery samples so make sure you have a look out for some upcoming posts featuring some more gems as they are well worth a look at. They are stocked at Superdrug, Store Twenty One (a personal favourite), Republic and Tresera. This particular necklace was my favourite piece which is why I couldn’t resist pairing it with my outfit immediately. I love the gold, sharp details that create a collared statement piece with light reflecting white stones.
If you are a frequent reader of my blog then you will know I have been on a long search for some new wayfarers to replace my cheap but fighting Primark pair, well low and behold I found these Radley beauties. They weren’t sent or sponsored I just loved them so much I thought that they had to be included in a Spring friendly post. I have actually kept hold of the box this time round, so no finding broken and scratched sunglasses at the bottom of forgotten bags, that’s a promise when they cost £90!
